Bank Strike: Which banks are open today and what services are affected Bank operations will be imapcted today as the public sector banks are on a one-day strike. Nine bank unions have called for a day-long protest to press for several demands including wage revision and accountability of top executives in view of mounting bad loans in the banking sector. Most of the public sector banks including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank and Bank of Baroda have informed the customers that functioning of their branches will be affected. However, the services of private lenders like HDFC Bank, ICICI, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank are expected to stay unaffected but may have slight delay in cheque clearances.
